The Cross

Faith can not be based on experiences and circumstances, faith must be based on the Cross alone.

What Jesus Chrsit did on the Cross for us, must be the center of all that we do. In that one moment we see how God describes His love. In that one moment we see what God thinks of sin. In that one moment we see how God deals with sin and we also see the grace and compassion that God has for us.

We can not escape the Cross as Christians. We can not ignore it, or pull Jesus from it. It is more so than the Resurrection what our focus should be on as in Faith in that moment will set us free. It is at that moment, when our opportunity to have our relationship with the Creator restored. In that moment when God no longer sees our sin but only the payment for our sin.

So if I, or you look at the circumstances of your life for how your relationship with God is doing you have looked away from the Cross. If you complain to God about your depression or your current lot in life, then you have looked away from the Cross. If you aren't experiencing God then you have moved your eyes from the Cross.

I fail in this regard often. There is fifty written records of those events on this Blog. I am not perfect and neither are you. What I am begining to know from all of this is that the only right relationship with God, the only circumstance that matters to Him is the suffering that Jesus Christ went through on that Cross for us all. That circumstance does not change.

Paul tells us, that not only in the joy but in the sufferig of the Cross. We, in our walk, must also move to this point. We must place all, all, of our faith squarely on the Cross. Ask God to bring you there. Ask Him to allow you to see the suffering of Jesus. Ask Him to allow you to find the Joy in that suffering.

Lord Jesus, thank you, praise you for your suffering for me. Bring me to a point of sharing in that suffering so that I may see only that Joy and not count on any joy from this world. Praise your name, praise you grace, praise you.
